For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...
Mark 10:45
WHY WE SERVE
At Calvary Chapel Vineland, we believe that serving is not optional—it’s essential to the Christian life. Jesus, the King of kings, humbled Himself and served others with His whole life. If the Lord Himself came to serve, how can we do anything less? Serving is how we live out the gospel. It's how we reflect Christ to the world and to one another. We serve not to earn favor with God, but because we have been shown undeserved favor in Christ.
HOW WE SERVE
We serve with hearts that are humble, hands that are ready, and lives that are surrendered.
Whether greeting newcomers at the door, teaching children about Jesus, running tech behind the scenes, or praying with someone after service—every act of service matters. Ministry isn’t just for the few; it’s the calling of the entire body of Christ. Each believer has been gifted uniquely by God to serve the church and advance His Kingdom (1 Peter 4:10, Romans 12:4-8).
We serve out of gratitude. We serve with excellence. We serve in love.

A CALL TO SERVE
Jesus didn’t suggest that His followers serve—He commanded it. A disciple follows their Master, and our Master came to serve. So whether you're new to the church or you've been walking with the Lord for decades, there is a place for you to serve in the body.
Don’t wait to be asked—step up and step in.
We’re not looking for perfection, just people with a willing heart. As Charles Spurgeon once said, “If there be any one point in which the Christian church ought to keep its fervor at a white heat, it is the matter of sending the gospel to a dying world.” That starts with showing up to serve.
